Lincolns in the movies and TV

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

Just saw Kalifornia I know its already been posted that the star car is a 63 vert but about a hour into the movie the girls are hanging around a 66 sedan with red interior while the guys are shooting windows out of a old meat packing plant. I dont know if any one else caught that?

Went and saw Rush in the theatre last night (highly recommended!)

As far as Lincolns there were two that I noticed.

This sladside was depicted as Niki Lauda's ride;

And near the end James Hunt shows up in this limo. The scene was supposed to be at the end of the 76 Formula 1 season, but this limo is definitely an 80's one.

Still a good movie though!

The Ice Harvest has a Lincoln LS. The original Batman TV series, the batmobile was made from a Lincoln concept car. The Lincoln Lawyer, of course.

Did anyone see the Bad Grandpa? Johnny Knoxville was driving a Lincoln coupe. Looked a 76-78?

I just bought and am presently watching the 1956 season of "Highway Patrol." So far I've seen a 56 Premier and a 49? Cosmopolitan. What is most interesting for me is seeing southern California before freeways. Two lane roads through the orange groves, roadside diners, oil fields. Dusty country. I'm too young to remember it, but I suppose this is not much different from what Tom Joad and his family would have seen when they made their way to California to pick peaches. Fascinating stuff, for sure.

Has "A Fish Called Wanda" been mentioned yet?

Kevin Kline's character drives around the UK in this Continental, usually on the wrong side of the road LOL!

That's a great movie. His character consistently yells "a$$hole!" at British motorists who don't move out of his way fast enough.

Not sure if the TV show 'Vegas' has been mentioned but the bad guy drives around in a black '61 sedan (with 15" rims and hub caps). Cool show with lots of vintage cars. Sadly many get crashed or burnt... :?

John, yeah, now that you mention it. Not exactly "sunny California" is it? A Fish Called Wanda- about as perfect a movie as I've ever seen! Jamie Lee Curtis! Yow! :D I recently saw a magazine with her on the cover, she still looks gorgeous, gray hair and all. Anyway, the guy that directed Wanda, Charles Chricton also directed several classic Ealing comedies like "Lavender Hill Mob" and others. I'm surprised that no one mentioned Wanda till now. It must have been a bastard of a job, driving that Lincoln through London's narrow streets, not to mention among London drivers who are all maniacs!

There is a war movie from about 1962 with John Wayne called "In Harm's Way" about the navy during World War 2. There is a scene where a 40 or 41 Continental convertible goes off a cliff in Hawaii during the morning of December 7th, killing Kirk Douglas' characters wife who was screwing around on him plus the guy she was screwing. A story my old man told me was that there was such an uproar about destroying such a car that the studio said that it was made of plywood??? Does anyone know if this is true?

Here is the Lincoln;

Here is the Mercury that they drove over the cliff, not a wooden mock-up of a lincoln;

They did not wreck the Lincoln :)

After watching "Trailer Park Boys: The Movie", I found a nice 1962 Lincoln convertible. The movie was filmed and released in Canada in 2006, and had a limited US release in 2008. Man, I can't enough TPB! :D
