1964 steering wheel horn ring

Has anyone taken apart their steering wheel to get re-chromed? The small tabs / retainers holding the button in place on the backside of the horn ring are breaking on me.

I'm sorry to hear that. I've learned the ins and outs of a lot of things by breaking them, but I wouldn't want to try it with a steering wheel. I think most wheel bearings require busting them up, no matter how cleanly the writers of the manuals can remove them. Wayne
