1989 Town Car ‘Opera’ Pillar Light Issue
Hey all, having an issue finding opera lights for my 89 Town Car. Every search leads me to bulbs that go in from the interior into the back of a housing. However my Signature Series has a long light that goes behind this metal trim housing and comes off from outside the car. Anyone seen lights for these before and know where I could possibly get them since I have the housing?

I only see the trim. Post the lamp.

Looks like aftermarket trim. From what I recall all of the 80s box models had lights that were shorter and wider than that from the factory. If I am correct, that is going to make it a lot tougher to track down.

I’ll try and post a picture of the actual light itself as soon as I can. For now here’s a couple example pictures from a YouTube video. It’s the same light that can be seen on this car in the video. It’s the same signature series package where the whole roof is wrapped in cloth, not just the back. This makes me think it’s not aftermarket and came that way from the factory.

That looks factory to me.
My 77 had exterior lamps like this and there was just a peanut bulb behind it. 89 or 91 was the type, I believe.

I’ll tell you, they sure look like the same lamps on late 80s GM. Search “1990 Caprice Brogham LS Opera Lamps” and you’ll see what I mean.

Is there a Ford part number on the back of the trim pieces? I’m 98% confident this is not factory, but I’ve also been wrong before.

It might be the people who made the fancy, thick, vinyl roof. I've got them on my MGM. Wayne

That is something I admit to having pondered once for Frankenstein, but it was never a fully-serious mod I committed to.
