Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending on your view), with Mr. Peabody's Wayback Machine, nothing ever really disappears in cyberspace.

Yep, unfortunate. Always enjoyed browsing that website. I asked them if they were going away permanently, whether there would be an archive, etc and got no answer.

To think this forum has been live since July 2000.

If I died, so would this site. I need a beneficiary who can handle it.

Too bad.
The problem I've found with sites like that and forums I've had or been part of is there was a big negative impact when Google became the goto search engine and then changed how their searches worked to favor Wikipedia and commercial sites. Wikipedia killed more traffic and didn't help that editors copied content from other sites and Facebook killed off a lot of the forums.
At least Wikipedia does have a lot of content that is hard to find and they usually reference the sites things came from.

It's a shame we didn't get some advance warning about Automotive Mileposts. I would have liked to print out the pages with options prices, etc for certain year Lincolns.

Dave, go to the link I posted above. It takes you to the internet archive where you can still find that stuff.

It takes a bit of practice, but if you go to the Wayback Machine main page, you’ll see over time, when the page was archived. Not all links within the website are available at each save. You have to check different times, but I can guarantee that “somewhere” in those 466 saves, you’ll find what you are looking for.
