Picking up my “new”. Town Coupe Thursday

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

Picking up my “new”. Town Coupe Thursday

Post by John Mc »

I’ll post pictures when I get it, but this White/Jade ‘77 I sold about 10 years ago. I contacted the man I sold the car to and he was willing to sell the car back to me. He told me he has not really driven the car since he bought it.
So, it’s a solid 34,000 mile 460 car. I’m sure its going to need work, but that’s where the fun begins.

Beautiful car. I had a '78 TC that I drove as my everyday wheels in the '90's. Even towed my other cars around with it. It began to suffer terminal cancer, and I gave it away with 200k on the clock. Guy drove it another five years.

With only 34k, I don't think I need to wish you "much" luck...😉

Hi John, glad you got another car. You'll like this one. I had a 75 once that was a daily driver. It was white with red velour interior. I also had another Mark that had a blue velour interior. Both died, and went into a pretty big field, where they still might be today. Bet they are so rusted now that they have trees growing through them. Wayne

That's particularly impressive that you're able to get back the very same car you sold. Hopefully the second law of thermodynamics hasn't caused too much in the way of revival issues. Now that you have it back, don't let go of it again.

I’m beginning to believe somebody should cue the ominous music…did the deal fall through, John? Or did your wife find out first? 😂

Those wheels will buff out to look brand new with mother's aluminum polish. You can clear coat them as well, I didn't, but I've only had to polish mine twice in 19 years.

HA! No, the guy pushed the delivery until this Saturday.
Say, I’ll be needing several items, but right now, anyone have a Jade upper panel dash pad?? Thanks, pictures coming.
