Trouble Diagnosis Convertible Top

Post by JAB »

I am looking for a copy of the 5' x 3' dealer service wall hanging titled Trouble Diagnosis Convertible Top. I know there was a 1963 printing (which I have in poor shape) and a 64/65 version and a 66/67 version.
This is not reproduced or available from any of the Usual Suspects, or from any other source I am aware of.

Thanks,
John Brewer

I have one of these somewhere. The Michigan region was selling them. We had an original years ago and kept having color copies made.
I'd have to locate it.

Do you want the info or the poster? I can take some digital pics of it (Again... if I can find it) or I can try to make you a copy.

I would be very interested in seeing the convertible top poster for '67.

Dan,
I am looking to borrow one for the purpose of reproduction. If I can find one of each version, I will have them all reproduced. I would be able to get it back to you within a week or two.
Thanks

OK. Give me a little time to look for it. If I find it, I'll ship it to you in a tube. I'll post a few pics, too.

I think the one I have is 64/65. I don't think it was for 66/67.

If you reproduce the 63 one I would be interested in purchasing one.

Thank you for the lead. I talked to TIm Nill yesterday. He does have a couple of very unique and rare factory wall hangings, but they are not for the convertible top. He is going to send me some better photos.

I found it! It's for 64/65. It's 3rd or 4th generation copy and the color is faded, but it's in good shape.

Dan and all,
I will be going over to my graphic designer today to look at the first finished reproduction of the 64/65 Trouble Diagnosis sheet. It has been digitally cleaned up and color corrected. The red and blue color details have been fully restored.
I will have it available in the 24" x 35" (approx) size as well as the dealer original 35" by 60" wall hanging (complete with upper corner hanging grommets).
The larger version will be printed on banner material, so will be rough and ready for hanging in your garage or shop, and you can touch it with your greasy hands and just wipe it off with a sponge.
The smaller version will be printed on poster paper.
If someone wants an even larger version (to wallpaper your living room or as a "wrap" for the side of your RV (JCC take note), or to plaster to the side of an office building in your downtown area, that can be had as well (no joke).

After this one is done, I will proceed to the 1963 version, which is correct for 63 and almost totally correct for 61/62.
I will also probably create a version for 1966/1967, but this will be totally from scratch (I have not yet found any evidence that Ford produced one, but they must have. Dan... take a look into the recesses of your garage for a copy of that one).

Thanks for the update, John.

I can tell you I do not nor have I ever seen a 66/67 poster of this type. I was lucky I had the 64/65 version.
