Information is here.

More information will be posted in the coming weeks.

I reserved the whole week (Wed to Sunday). Not sure if I'll need all the days. Doug did, too.

Is this info on the LCOC web site? If it is, I couldn't find it.

Stu always plans his vacations on the dates of major functions. If you don't know when an LCOC meet is happening, ask Stu when he's going on vacation.

Too bad, Stu. You're gonna miss the grand opening. It should be a unique event.

Dan, do you know if all of the named items (benches, pavers, bricks etc.) will be in place for the dedication?

I e-mailed Jack Shea with my questions, and here is his response:

"In regards to your second question, yes the benches, pavers and bricks are expected to be in place. The event will be a dedication of the building, not a grand opening, which will come later when funds become available to complete the exhibits. The interior painting will start this week so the interior is expected to be about complete when the LMCF Trustees meet there April 6th. They need a break in the weather to complete the exterior of the building. Good progress is being made in securing the cars needed to tell the story. Several cars have been donated and others will be on loan. The number of completed exhibits depends both on new funds becoming available and on the amount of pledge payments received by July. "

Thanks for the update.

I guess I don't understand the difference between dedicating the building and opening it. It seems to me that the foundation is rushing into getting this building open when they're not really ready.

I'll have to rephrase the wording on the website stuff that I have referring to it as the "grand opening". Jack had been telling me it was being referred to as the "homecoming". If that isn't a grand opening then I guess I don't know what is.
