1973 lincoln spark plug wires

I bought Marti's spark plug wires. They are black with red spark plug boot ends. I seem to remember the original wires being medium grey with black ends. Anyone remember what came from the factory back in 1973?

I have a 75 which had all black wires and boots with yellow or white lettering that said 1975 on them.
I know 1977 they went to the blue ones with the white lettering, numbered, etc.

Well, Idid some more research and now that I think about it, they did have red boots as I recall they had to be cleaned to get the black oil traces off years ago before I changed them to the gray ones. More interesting, Marti buys them from the same supplier as does CJ Pony Parts, but is more reasonably priced at $45.00 vs CJ's "sale price" of $58.99!

[1973 Mark IV Fanatic]

I purchased a set of Marti's plug wires for my '73 Mark IV, and at a glance, they appear to be 100% authentic, but upon closer inspection, they are not date (year) coded. That is a bit disappointing, but it is nice that they have all of the other correct markings/fonts, etc.
