Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

Collector Series "gold"

Post by lincdude »

Does anyone know what the colour of gold was on the grills? Mine is quite faded but would like to have as close to the original in colour. Thanks.

For the 78 Diamond Jubilee, it was called jubilee gold.
The 79 collector's series was a carry-over of the 78 Diamond jubilee edition.

I believe there were 3 grill badges in 1978. The standard "red" and then "gold" for the gold DJE and "blue" for the diamond blue edition. The "gold was carried over for the 1979 Collector's Series while all other 79's had the "red" badge.

I think the OP is referring to the gold-tinted slats of the grille, not the badges.
