Re: Lincoln dash plaque
The IV is not correct. That plaque belongs on a Mark IV; that's what the Roman numeral is supposed to indicate. Either someone took that plaque off a Mark IV and put it on the Town Car to be fancy (without being informed); or, if that is an original plaque for that car, the factory made a grave boo-boo.

Here is my original dash plaque - It's towards the top left-hand corner of the glove box. Also, when you open the glove box, there is a maintenance sticker on the left-hand side.

Re: Lincoln dash plaque
I had a few of these over the years.
Took them apart and dropped by a trophy shop and the owner who was a car guy,
made some new plates with my name on them, then we reassembled them and installed them on the cars.
The engraving matched the factory font and size.
The one for my 64 convertible fell off quite a while ago, and I *know* it's in one my parts boxes up in the shop attic, somewhere....

There is a guy on ebay selling Lincoln dash plaques, I don't know if they are accurate but they are on ebay.

Here's one from my 65. They are my wife's great-grandparents.

Re: Lincoln dash plaque
Funny anecdote: There was a member here who thought his Lincoln was "special" and asked about the Robert Eckhardt Edition Lincoln he owned (name changed so you would get it). We told him that was just the original owner's name plaque.
I can't find the thread because i can't remember the Original owner's name.
It's neat to have, but the original owners are likely long dead by now for any 60s Lincoln.

Lol
I've debated removing the plaque since it has no meaning/relation to me... But on the other hand, it's been there 51 years.

Re: Lincoln dash plaque
It would be neat if everyone who has an engraved dash plaque and/or paperweight could list the names so that maybe the plaques or paper weights could be re-united with either the original cars or with the original owners family. My 1965 sedan was owned by Mary E. (Bebee) Bourne. The remnants of the plaque are still on the dash. Does anyone have one engraved with the name of George H. Watts ? My family had a new 64 sedan in Highlander Green traded in on a 68 Coupe in bright red. Both purchased new in NJ. I have no idea of where the family cars plaques or paper weights may have gone. My dad had the paperweight a long time but he and the paperweights & plaques are long gone. I have a paperweight with Carol Keil engraved.
