Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
That my friend is not a hold down. Those struts are re-inforcements since apparently you have a convertible!

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
That indeed is for the battery hold down. To use this you will need the battery box as well as the bar that goes across. I think you also need the orginal battery tray. I don't have a photo at the moment (my car is not nearby), but I'm sure someone else will still have one on their car.

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
Thank you so much for the help to everybody.
Does somebody know if this Battery hold down is available or were I could buy one? Are the battery hold down form 1966 to 1990 the same or are there differences?
Sorry for asking such "stupid" questions but in Germany there is no offical Lincoln dealer. I guess in hole Europe there is none. And if you go to a ford dealer they simply ask "what is LINCOLN"?
Kind greatings to all of you Frank

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
This hold down was used from 1966 to 1969.
This particular hold down is from a 1990 to 1998 Lincoln.

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
Did you find a replacement for your hold down? I would like to see a pic of it installed if you get a chance. What battery are you using? I couldn't quite see it from the pic. Is it they correct size?

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
I use a 12V 88 AH 640A Battery,
and yes I found the part,it cost only between 5 to 10 $ (used).
But the shipping cost are more than 50$ !!!!!!!
I will talk to my Onkel (he lives in Canada),
that he will buy the part for me and send it to Germany or that he gives it to me when he isin Germany the next time.

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
Here's on one from a '67 LP Limo.
I think it is 100% correct. Note the difference compared to my Town Car substitute.

Re: 66 Lincoln Battery HoldDown
Thank you for the Picture Dan,
my Onkel was at a Ford/Lincoln Dealer in Canada last week, they told him that there is a different between the U.S. and the Canadian cars (Canadian cars have bigger Batterys) and the U.S. Part is not available in Canada, the Canadian Part is totally different. So I will try my luck at Backer`s and Lincoln Land, hopefully they dont want so much Money for the Part and Shipping.I will send them your last Picture ,so I now, that they now, what I want.
