Lincolns & Continentals on album covers

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

Lincolns & Continentals on album covers

Post by ReijerLincoln »

It seems the 'Lincolns in the movies' thread has pretty much been completed for now. How about a 'Lincolns & Continentals on album covers' thread :smt020?

Here, I'll start with this '64 or '65 Convertible from Me First and The Gimme Gimmes:

Their version of 'Nothing Compares to You' by Sinead O'Connor is priceless...

Yep, they do a pretty good job on punk/pop song covers, but Nothing Compares 2U isn't on that specific albulm. "East Bound and Down" is pretty too. Gotta love the Bandit.

Gotta have iTunes installed, but who doesn't.
Me First...@iTunes ...Click on "See all songs by this artist"

My favorite punk cover is " Wendy " (Beach Boys) by the Decendents, the live version on Limewire is much harder and faster!

Enjoy

If you've seen Kid Rock's "Cocky" cd, my black '61 is throughout! It was before I owned the car and the walnut trim has been replaced by the brushed aluminum. There are cool pics of the clock, front license plate, hood ornament, grill/headlight, etc. I even had to buy the t-shirt with Kid Rock in the back seat. :D

Good call Kook! The Descendents are one of my favorite punkrock bands. Sadly no Lincoln references I think. That Wendy live version is on the (fantastic) Liveage album. I saw them in Amsterdam years back during their tour for Everything Sucks. Milo's great. I lost my voice for two days :D but was still able to drink coffee.

Todd, that cover is hilarious. I'm trying to download that Lincoln Hot Rod song. Doesn't the person from Goldman Classics use that at the bottom of his posts?

I rummaged 'round the interweb for a Kid Rock pic that shows 1961Lincoln former car but I couldn't find a good one...

Barry, could you tell us about that record? A piece of advertising I take it? Judging by that cover, the Lincoln division must have been serious about selling something with a 'continental' appeal. The Lincoln Europe or the Lincoln Old World just doesn't sound right...

Dan and Ann are both about 20 years younger than I am and never cease to remind me.

They didn't grow up with "albums". I think they were on the cusp of 8-tracks.

I'm not sure though, I have to check the Google on the internets.

its not an album cover but on the music video for marilyn manson's cover of tainted love, him and his band pull up to a house party in a 69(?) continental on hydraulics, that is actually owned or was owned by Marilyn.. They bounce the car up and down then all get out and walk up to the party, its a pretty cool scene.

Below are a couple pictures of marilyn's conti.
