Re: Post your best lincoln pic here.....
Thanks Ken, it's still the same car but at dusk and from the picture angle, the horrific paint disappeared.
I'm going to bring the Zephyr to the Gilmore or possibly the new '70 Coupe. Not sure at this point.
Thank you again. You can't beat the '61.

Re: Post your best lincoln pic here.....
What a great picture.
That car must really stick out over there.
Tell us Moin, are you near all the trouble spots in Pakistan??
I'm sure your life has been affected with the long terrible wars. I cannot imagine.
Can you tell us a little of your life there??

Re: Post your best lincoln pic here.....
Wars? What wars? No offence but do you watch alot of Fox News? Life here is pretty much just like any other major city. The best comparison would be Mexico City. There are good areas there are bad areas but nowhere where you 'won't get out alive'. Right now the biggest inconvenience here is the May/June heatwave and the occassional power failures. There are trouble spots yes but that is way up north west which is good 2 hours by air but still nothing compared to what is going on in Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Libya or Afghanistan. Its just unfortunate that the western media clearly portrays a biased picture (only the negative) and crime and violence is prevalant but in small pockets and in certain localties and you will be quite surprised at the number of classic cars actively driven on the streets on weekends.
My car does stick out yes, but not as much as my '61 Thunderbird. There are almost a dozen 60's Lincolns here, several Mustangs, Thunderbirds, Corvettes, RR's, Cadillacs, you name it, its here. Just Google (and look on Youtube) Vintage & Classic Car Club of Pakistan and you'll see for yourself.
You'll also be surprised by the number of restaurant franchises here which are doing roaring business i.e. McD, KFC, BK, Pizza Hut, Dominos, Papa Johns, Johnnie Rockets, Hardees, Subway, TGIF etc alongside local chains/restaurants which are a gastronomical delight.
The sad part is that we rely and continue to rely and turn to our ever professional media for news and information and its fairly obvious that the media thrives on the scandalous, the obnoxious, the negative, the concocted and only that which will generate them the highest ratings and viewers. We never question, we never doubt, we never wonder, we never think outside the box. We just consume what is put on our plate.

Very well said and I appreciate your perspective. Thanks very much and yes, our view of the world based upon what we see, and of course we see only the bad.
Love to go there and visit at some point. Thanks again and the best of luck.

You would be more than welcome. We just need to get over our paranoia, suspicions, prejudices and confining ourselves to our own back yard and gobbling what the media feeds us.

True enough, if all you would do is watch our national news you would think we are all out of minds. As I like to say 98% of the news is spent on 2% of the public.

Re: Post your best lincoln pic here.....
Have heard it said that (Generalizing) Americans are ignorant of anything outside their country, perhaps by poor media coverage. As far as Pakistan is concerned, we here in Australia know little, apart from media reports that Pakistani Military Intelligence is supporting the Taliban, No general idea of what life is like, only stories like Terrorists attacked a school today killing many children, nothing like Pakistan celebrates x number of Years of independence which would be positive.
Just the rubbish media we all put up with.

Yes there is plenty of news the rest of the world isn't really told about unless its something negative. This recent news article though was pretty funny and not the usual negative mantra, and this survey was taken from an American website:
http://www.emirates247.com/entertainmen ... 9-1.590060
And here are some pics from my Flickr album I took at a food festival (people love to eat here) I attended here some months back. Doesn't look like much of a war zone to me:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/20585900@ ... 0041141647
That article about the cars is actually quite biased and focuses on just one person who I have not even heard of as he lives in another town. There are other collectors (hoarders actually) who have much more desirable cars.
