Plug and play ‘77 muffler?

Post by John Mc »

Guys, the muffler on my ‘77 Town Coupe is blown out, the rest of the system is fine.
Anyone know where I can find an exact replacement to the original? Not interested in anything aftermarket.

Well, this isn't a guarantee, but have you tried searching on E-Bay? That was where I got my last mufflers; in fact, I'll be needing to do my own search soon, as the outer layers of both mufflers are separating (I had to cut a piece of that layer off last time I was in Topeka because it was almost dragging on the pavement).

My go-to is Scott at Classic Exhaust out of Geneva, Ohio. If it can be made exact as factory, he can do it.

As a follow up, I went to my friendly NAPA and they found a universal that with some reducers worked perfectly!
Total cost? About $120.

Thanks for all the input!

Drill a drain hole in the front and rear of the muffler to make it last longer. 1/8" or 3/16" work
