I must disagree with my esteemed colleague's advice. Tossing that block will take away the automatic sweep, adding more work for the driver which really is not necessary. And doing that does nothing if the run-on is caused by a jammed main valve.

Follow my advice: Take out the cotton filter, wash it, re-insert it, then adjust the sweep with the screw. It does work well when age is factored out (which is done by cleaning the filter). I stake my reputation on it.

There are some design flaws on our year of Suicide. That vacuum block is not one of them.

(Maybe John might have an opening for an assistant...? I will be retiring and could use a job in my favorite hobby.

)

BTW, I took a second, closer look at the picture you posted of your wiper motor; and I clearly saw that, at that time, the main valve was not fully closed. The tip of the valve stem has to touch the lever for it to be fully closed. Did you happen to fix that?

Hello tony, I tried to pull the valve stem it with pliers and it sucked back to the position pictured. I didn't check it once I disconnected the T piece in the vacuum line. I've washes the cotton filter and reinstalled. Wipers and washers are working perfectly
