Re: Lincolns in the movies and TV
Guys, you just gotta look at this! Like wow!
Watch the one where Dave Garroway (he was a legit car nut) waxes rhapsodic about the 53 Corvette and notice, wouldn't that be a lot less tiring to drive if it had radial tires?

Love this one Dan. I have it in my favorites. What an era! I wonder how people get their hands on this old video / commercials.

I found a 16mm film version of it on E-bay years ago and had it converted to DVD to post to YouTube. Still have the film.bd94s10 wrote: I wonder how people get their hands on this old video / commercials.

Re: Lincolns in the movies and TV
December 30, 2015: MeTV was showing CHiPs.
Lo and behold! A wonderful 1973 Lincoln modified with a grille that looks like its from a Mark IV.
However, when they side-swiped the bad guys, the car mysteriously changed into a 67! I don't see the rear door handle in the last pic so I'm guessing it is a 67 coupe and not a sedan.
Thank you, MeTV.

Re: Lincolns in the movies and TV
A 1963 film, "The Old Dark House," starred Robert Morely and Tom Poston. Set in England, Peter Bull's character Caspar orders a Lincoln Continental from car salesman Poston, saying, "I've always wanted a foreign car." Har, har."Is it a good car?" he asks. "The best, Caspar." That always stuck with me. Peter Bull played the Russian Ambassador in Dr. Strangelove. Poston was a fixture on To Tell the Truth for many years.

Re: Lincolns in the movies and TV
I came across this video of a Bruce Lee scene in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood:
Notice the blue car he dents.
https://youtu.be/CuCRjEN124g?si=KGdlVFBdT-ihuvOm
The dents are CGI.
1968 Continental Sedan. I don’t think it’s a factory color.

Finally, a legitimate use of CGI in the movies.

Did anyone mention the Matt Helm movies with Dean Martin driving a Marl III off road?

Re: Lincolns in the movies and TV
After 30 pages, it's hard to find a movie that hasn't been mentioned, but "The Notebook" has a nice '41. It is definitely a chick flick, but "happy wife, happy life", right?
