Fuel pump regulator

Fuel pump regulator
Measured my fuel pump pressure and it was too high - 10 psi - possibly the cause of my occasional flooding issue. So I am going to install a fuel pressure regulator. Anyone have any experience or recommendations? Lots of choices on the market.
Thanks,
Peter

Re: Fuel pump regulator
I really like the simplicity of this one: PTNHZ RACING Manual Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator Carburettor Carb Fuel Pump FPR.
On second thought, skip it and pay double for one made in the USA. This will probably leak in a year.
Otherwise, check out Jegs and Summit racing as this is a common add-on for racers.

Re: Fuel pump regulator
I used this one on my '63 along with a rotary style efp mounted at the tank. I set the reg. to 4psi and in conjunction with the efp, I have had zero vapor lock or hot start/ flooding issues.
I mounted the reg. inline before fuel filter under hood.

Re: Fuel pump regulator
That's a version of the one I mentioned above. I had a link, but removed it after I read the reviews (the negative reviews). Leaking was what I was looking for and... I hope yours doesn't leak!

Re: Fuel pump regulator
Haven't had any issues w/ leaks. I just picked 1st one I found online. Mr.Gasket, I've heard of, so snagged it. Has been working fine for couple years, now.

Re: Fuel pump regulator
So that’s what I installed and the flooding has stopped. I was told high fuel pump pressure could overwhelm the carb but I was reluctant to believe that was my problem. I now think the Motorcraft 4300 carbs are susceptible to high fuel pressure and highly recommend checking the pump pressure if your carb is flooding.
Thanks for the replies,
Peter

Re: Fuel pump regulator
Let is know how long it lasts and if you are happy with it.
If I ever get around to adding the electric pump for my 66, I will likely need one of these.
