New Phone Pictures Too Large To Post!

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

New Phone Pictures Too Large To Post!

Post by jon schapiro »

I guess my new phone generates too many pixels for my pictures to post to the Forum. Is there anyway the pixel maximum can be increased on the board? Also I find every time I access the form I am forced to login which never happened on my old phone. Not sure if this is a phone problem or a forum problem

Sorry, pictures at max resolution are sucking up too much server space. We’re already at 2MB per picture.

I found for iPhone users, one can select the picture from the photo stream album (which is iCloud synced back to your Mac) and it will work. Otherwise, a pic resolution shrinker app is needed.

    Or crop the picture.

I’ll look into bumping it, but things are getting crazy with file sizes.

And clear your cookies on the bird and try again. I’m only kicked off about 1/3 of the time.

In the last couple of days logging in has not been seemless.

The system does not seem to remember the devices I use.

I am just terrible with computers, and have no business offering advice, but I'll do it anyway. A friend of mine has 2 computers, and if he E-Mails himself, he can downsize the pictures, then post them.
Since Dan opened up to the bots, we have a lot more traffic here, even set a new record. Of course, this is good, but Perhaps that increase is bogging things down a bit?

I put them on my computer, then save each one as a JPEG which cuts the file sizes down a LOT

For Android one of the tools in the photos lets you resize pictures either by physical size or quality by sliding a bar and it tells you what file size it'll be.

You and upload to Flickr (1,000 free images) and then copy the link (easier on a computer) and paste it in there. It’s super easy but you have t to copy the code link. That is what I do on my Project Smuggler’s Blues thread.

I keep my own on my own storage. I am a control freak about some things. This is one
