I can't seem to identify this trim part on the driver rear fender (just about the gas door)... it looks like an antenna mount, but I have an antenna in what I believe is the stock position on the passenger front fender. Someone told me they thought it was for a miniature flag, but didn't know for sure.
Any thoughts?
Thanks!
Cary

I have had 3 different 65s and have not seen this before.

I think you're right, Cary...that looks to me to be the trim piece for the antenna mount used on 61-2's. Wonder if the original peak molding was damaged and a PO replaced all 3 pieces with 61-2 molding (assuming the 65 fender is the same length??).

Definitely not proper for that year.
But maybe it could serve a purpose if the mast is there too--like flying a flag during sport events like the World Cup or NFL or something...or one of those Jack-In-The-Box balls repainted like ICP.
Does your radio pick up stations?

You probably know this by now, it indeed is a 62 type antenna bezel. If you have not yet replaced it I can trade a 63 moulding in very good shape. My bezel is pitted, and I am in parts gathering mode at present. Easiest to get me by phone to discuss shipping at 306 445 6847.
