Hayden fan/clutch part# for our cars
I replaced my fan/clutch last night, thought I'd share this info. These are all Hayden part #'s. Available at most auto parts stores. As you can see from the list it's either a #2710 or a #2723, or a REV 2723.

MEL motors use a Hayden 2741. At least my 64 does. $40 from rockauto.com

I just got one for my 1962 p# 2747 Hayden Heavy Duty disengaged 20-30% of shaft speed and 80-90% engaged of shaft speed. Works great!

Re: Hayden fan/clutch part# for our cars
Anyone know what clutch fan fits the 1963 MEL 430 engine? The Hayden 2741 listed application is a Chevy Corvette, and the Hayden 2747 listed application is Ford since 1976, so the catalogs are not much help. I assume you guys picked the clutch based on dimensions? Do you know if the 2741 or 2747 fits my 1963? Any help or suggestions are much appreciated. Thanks.

Ken,
61 to 65 fan clutches all are the same according to my MPC.

Dan thanks for pointing that out. I was trying to resolve the two statements above about using the Hayden 2747 verus the Hayden 2741- according to their spec sheets the flange diameter and the fan mount heights are different between the two:Dan Szwarc wrote:Ken, to 65 fan clutches all are the same according to my MPC.

I guess I was hoping for the easy button of prior knowledge, I need to pull my fan and measure the clutch dimensions, so I won't drive it until the clutch arrives. These things are on amazon and ebay so I need to order soon. Cheers.

Re: Hayden fan/clutch part# for our cars
I am bumping this post to say I installed the Hayden 2741 without incident, a 30 minute job. Clearances are perfect with the fan centered between the radiator and engine. I found this heavy duty clutch on Amazon for $38.71 including shipping, it is slightly larger than NOS but looks and works great as pictured below. Used new grade 8 bolts at 18 foot pounds torque; Stripped and powder coated the fan blades.
