RIP Jonathan Rubbo, New England Region LCOC

Old news, but better late than ever.

LCOC member and TLF member, Jonathan Rubbo, passed away back in February. In accordance with TLF policy, his account has been deactivated and his posts will remain online.

Jonathan J. Rubbo, of Hingham, died on Feb. 23, 2014 after a long illness. Jon was a longtime resident of Hingham, graduating from Hingham High School class of 1977. He went on to attend Northeastern and Harvard Universities. Jon started his career as a programmer analyst at Liberty Mutual Ins. Co., then continued at State Street Bank, Polaroid, and most recently worked as a senior developer at John Hancock Ins. Co., only retiring when he became ill. He had a passion for cars and was instrumental in establishing the Lincoln Continental Owners Club | New England Region in 2008. He had a great passion for Art and Classical Music as well. Jon is the cherished son of Louis H. Rubbo of Hull and Marion (Carr) Rubbo of Hingham. He is survived by his siblings Patricia Rubbo of Abington, Louis N. Rubbo of Rockland, Peter Rubbo and his wife Loretta of South Weymouth, William Rubbo and his wife Jane of California, Marjie Asbury and her husband Beau of California, Thomas Rubbo of Hingham and Edward Rubbo of Hingham. He is the devoted uncle of 5 nieces and nephews and 3 great-nieces. He will also be remembered as a warm and caring friend, who was always willing to help others in need and for his unique sense of humor and infectious laugh. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Friday 4 - 8 p.m. in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home,South Weymouth, at 809 Main Street (Rte. 18 opp. South Shore Hospital). Funeral service will be celebrated in the funeral home on Saturday at 11 a.m. and burial will take place in the High Street Cemetery, Hingham. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Jon may be made to the Hospice Residence Hingham, 86 Turkey Hill Road, Hingham, MA 02043. John was a great guy and a founding member of the New England region. He will be missed.
