"western Lincoln"

This area is for those who need help modernizing their Lincoln for purposes other than strict restoration. Such questions can be about adding an electric fuel pump, adding fuel injection, boosting horsepower or gas mileage, or tightening or lowering the suspension. Body customizing and chopping can also be here (although this practice is not encouraged by the LCOC).

"western Lincoln"

by western designer "Nudie Cohn" did quite a few over the top cars most with big horns on the front. Hard to tell but the door handles are pistols.

What's up with the Texas haters?? This guy looks pretty pimped out to me! And how the heck could you complain about that album cover? Not exactly my style, but you gotta admit, this guy is the definition of "Go big or go home"!

I love this. I'm glad I found this thread years ago. I had looked more into Nudie Cohn (lol) and found all kinds of interesting stuff. "Nuta Kotlyarenko, known professionally as Nudie Cohn, was an American tailor who designed decorative rhinestone-covered suits, known popularly as "Nudie Suits", and other elaborate outfits for some of the most famous celebrities of his era. He also became famous for his outrageous customized automobiles." Wikipedia.

Here is an autographed album cover from Danny Michaels and band I ended up scoring. This may not be everyone's cup of tea but it just goes to show you these Lincolns have been customized for a long time. Longer than most realize. Does anyone know where this car is these days? Any lead on if it is in a museum or a private collector's hands? Would love to see more pics of it!

Just when I thought I had seen most everything. Had to check that out.

Nudie Cohn (Nuta Kotlyarenko) born in Kiev in 1902 what was then part of the Russian Empire.
A clothing fashion designer that was a bit over the top.
Located in Tinsel Town where over the top is in demand at times.
The store was called "Nudie's of Hollywood"
He did a lot of "Western" styled clothing for country singers some f which sold in solid five figures in the 1960s
He "fashioned" some cars as well

Nudie passed away in 1984

I understand it may not intend to be, but it sure sounds like a strip club. People who don't know the origin of the context would think that.

Lol TonyC. No doubt. Strange name indeed. Nick, thanks for the link. I wonder if there are any other pics out there of this Lincoln?

When I think about this one it reminds me of the Roy Rodgers yellow Lincoln convertible. A guy that always chimes in on my Instagram posts said there is a backstory to why Roy Rodgers painted it yellow so I looked it up. Maybe I'll make a thread about it.
