Tires For A 1979 Sedan.

Post by NY Lincoln »

Hello All,

I'm a longtime reader of the forum and now a newbie asking my first question. Could someone please tell me what brand of tire would be an acceptable replacement on my '79 sedan? Also, I would appreciate any advice on where to purchase the tires.

Any brand is acceptable as tire brands are no longer judged by the LCOC. Whitewalls must be as original (typical 3/4 to 1 inch).

The original brand was likely Michelin, who no longer makes a whitewall tire.

Cooper makes an appropriate tire for your car, called the Trendsetter SE. They can be purchased at Big O Tires. I believe that Firestone still makes the FR380, which is another acceptable substitute. Reasonably priced, too.
