If that's a concern I would negotiate a price at one dealership and ask for the X-plan at the other.

One of the important things to understand about the plan is that the dealer is guaranteed to make a reasonable profit by Ford with the X-plan. Negotiating a better price can eliminate a dealer's profit.

We are losing dealerships in the Detroit area at an alarming rate. Many of the old-time mechanical skills are leaving with them. Stark Hickey Ford at 7-mile and Grand River just closed and dismissed their entire staff. I think our club member Jeff kept the service department going singlehandedly. He has suffered a loss, as the rest of the community. I think we need to support our local dealerships, and this is one way to do it.

The best price is not always the best deal.

Kudos!

I met a Colorado/Arizona member that took advantage of this and ordered a new Lincoln from a local AZ Dealership. Thought you would like to know.

As an ex-employee and a huge fan I intend to do as much as I can. Even when I dissagree with the current offerings.

During the past 3 years our family has purchased 6 new vehicles using the X-plan and we think it's great. The X-plan price for every new vehicle is printed on the dealer's copy of the invoice. The dealer will expect to show this to prospective buyers. Also, Ford maintains a web site for X-plan members -- myplan.ford.com -- which supplies a list of all the new vehicle inventory for all local Ford and LM dealers as well as the window sticker, MSRP and X-plan price for each listed vehicle. Also, the "my plan" site provides information about other spiffs -- rebates, special interest rates, special lease deals, etc. Finally, there are hopeful signs for Lincoln, despite the general downturn in the industry. MKX is clobbering Cadillac and Mercedes in luxury crossover sales; the Town Car hiatus is over; the gorgeous new MKS should be in showrooms by June; and a new version of the MKZ is scheduled to arrive in early 2009. It's a great time to but a new Lincon. And, by golly, don't we deserve one? Bill Williams

Ford is testing a new link that will smooth the PIN process dramatically.

I'll post it as soon as it's proofed.

The x plan page is broken on Ford’s side, even though the info. Looks as if it’s going through, it just disappears. Call Glenn Kramer (832-368-2575) and he'll enter the info. for you.

Ford has been having this problem since the ENM.

It appears as though the link has been fixed as a new order just came through.

It does seem as though it took a very long time to fix.

If anyone has an issue with obtaining a PIN for plan pricing (like if the site goes down again) I can help. I can either obtain a PIN for you or send you a referral.
Just e-mail or PM me here.

Best wishes,
Rob

Just aother note on savings, with X plan the dealer is capped at $75.00 DOC fees, I haven't bought a new car here in MI so I don't know what the average DOC fee is. I do Know that at the Ford dealership in Kingman, AZ the standard DOC fee was $300.00, so if that's the case you'd save an additional $275!

I am wondering if this plan is still available in 2014?
