Lincoln Time Capsule

Postby msloquet » Wed May 12, 2021 10:07 pm

Hey guys thought some of you may get a kick out of this. I am cleaning out my interior to Kilmat my car. Found a strange factory hole that was covered in tape and inside I found a pretty well preserved empty pack of Paul Malls circa 1964.

I've heard rumors of beer cans rattling inside of doors, but don't remember ever seeing some actual worker trash! Wayne

Mostly because workers on the line are not supposed to bring any personal items to the line.
Wanna snack, smoke, read or eat? That is what the break room is for.
And stuff still makes it's way to the line. At least back then.

Now, I would be surprised if anything foreign gets anywhere close to the line.
Jump suits, booties and head covering are more of the norm.
And there are far fewer workers now than there were in the 60s and 70s
Much more of the line is automated and many workers that work the line do so removed at some distance from the line.

What they wear on the line depends heavily on what stage of it they're working on. Most of the pictures and videos you see of them today the dress code is more lax then it was 30-40+ years ago and people are wearing every day clothes with steel toe boots. I'm sure with all the cameras around these days its greatly decreased the amount of foreign items that get in.
