Mark III naked top. How many exist?

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

It goes even deeper than that as sales/marketing and logic do not necessarily align.

A good market plan needs to shift when the target market buyer moves. Otherwise the seller has a product that gets left in the past with a buyer or buying group that has moved on to the next shiny "gotta have".
And on occasion the market circles around to the past and buys nostalgic product that has been remade to the present day. Such is the amusement ride that goes all over chasing the moving market.

action wrote:The same thing happened for Mustang (another Iacocca model in addition to Mark III) It was initially sold in March 1964 as a 1965 model. However the initial months of those Mustangs are generally referred to by fans as 64 1/2.

And by serial number there are no Mustangs in model year 1964

In addition to the Mustang, some other Fords marketed as or referred to by half model years included the 1963 1/2 Falcon, 1963 1/2 Galaxie, 1970 1/2 Falcon, 1985 1/2 Escort, 1988 1/2 Escort, as well as Mercury equivalents.

Regardless of how they were marketed/sold, the VIN model year code would've only been able to identify them by "whole" model years e.g. the VIN model year for the 1985 1/2 Escort was "F" which represented 1985.
