How Does 78 Mark V Power Antenna Come Apart?

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

How Does 78 Mark V Power Antenna Come Apart?

Post by audioresearch »

I don't see any obvious way to take apart the factory power antennas I have for my 1978 Continental Mark V to clean them.

I don't want to just put huge wrenches on the bottom and try to forcibly unscrew or pry open things and risk gouging up the case if I can avoid it.

Any suggestions appreciated.

These assemblies were not serviceable.
Meaning they were not designed to be taken apart in the field.

Replacement was the fix.
Earlier ones were made by Tenna Corp in Ohio. That company supplied both GM and Ford.
Likely your '78 is the same.
At some point Ford built their own. Not sure when that happened.

Post a picture. I have taken a couple of these apart. One I posted pictures on this Forum
