This highly unique Lincoln Continental is for sale by Jenkinson Concours&Customs in Escondido, California. The aluminum-top “flying brake” shaped piece is a one-of-a-kind coachbuilt car from Coachwork FLM Panelcraft in London, England. The company is famous for its unique “shooting-brake” Aston Martin DB6 and other one-off pieces from high end manufacturers such as Rolls-Royce and Bentley.
Vehicle History:
The previous owners were part of the Scripps family (benefactors of the Scripps Institute of Oceanography) and, true to its license plate “1 only”, this is the only Lincoln Continental coachbuilt by FLM Panelcraft. The car was purchased from the original owners in 1973 and has not been driven in approximately 20 years. The engine of the car is inoperable and does not turn and also requires a new hood, front doors, bumper, and grill. The body of the car and the floor pan remain relatively rust free. The car does not have a title and is sold as an as-is car for parts or restoration.

This 62 is currently on eBay. Apperently it is 'higly unique'.

Re: 1962 Continental coachbuilt station wagon by FLM panelcr
Its the same pictures as the previous Ebay ad. I suspect it didn't sell before and they are trying again. I have no cause to dispute the car's alleged history, but it doesn't look like much more than a mid 60s station wagon grafted onto a continental body. It does have a unique look and if the concept of a luxury cross over had taken off in the era of the Station Wagon, who knows, maybe it would have been produced. I can easily see a 64 or 65 Colony Park wagon in that profile.

Post your custom, unusual, and freaky Lincolns here
I thought I had made a thread for this before, but I can't find it, so here's another.
Please post pictures of any custom, unusual, freaky, or otherwise bizarre Lincolns you run across on the internet (like ebay and craigslist) in this thread. I prefer the files to be embedded, not linked, so they don't disappear in the future. The more information you can provide the better (where spotted, who built it, when, etc.).
To do this, save the pictures to your local computer or iPad, then use the Upload Attachment feature tab below to embed them. Include a link to the website if you can, also.
The cars don't have to be ugly. They can be well-done and tasteful, too.
I'll start with a one I found on google images.

4 Rear Fenders
Thought this fits the category:
Featured in Popular Mechanics as a do it yourself kit car, possibly with plans. It might have been on the cover. We believe this occurred as early as 1946, and as late as 1955. However it probably was built and published around 1950. It might also be featured in other car, speed, rod, science, mechanic magazines as well. The chassis turned out to be from an extremely rare 1941 Lincoln Custom, of which only approx. 600 were built in 1941, and even fewer in 1942, when it was discontinued. It was basically a Lincoln Limo, on a 138 inch wheelbase. It had the same V-12 motor as the 1941 Lincoln Contential and Zephyr chassis. However they had 125 inch wheelbase chassis instead. Most Lincoln Customs had the first year introduced Borg Warner overdrive units, and this chassis still has that overdrive in it, with correct 1941 serial #s on the front of the trans. The tread of this car is also unique to 1941, as 1940 and 1942 treads were different. The motor is a 1948 Mercury flathead, and this was determined by serial #s. The wheelbase has been reduced 3 inches to 135 - See more at:

Re: Post your custom, unusual, and freaky Lincolns here
This one is one of my favorite pics that I came across. Guy was actually selling another car on E-Bay, but for some reason he included a pic of this Coupe. I'm not a fan of the wheels (but then again, I'm no fan of wagon wheels, period, so my statement is biased), but the rest of it was totally awesome. If I had a Coupe, I'd probably want to do the same thing.

wow...i like the coupe a lot...the wheels arent THAT bad...even though im a no fan of wagon wheels lol..i would preffer the car to sit up higher a bit though. still, really nice with the reverse hinged doors
That 66 is confusing..looks like a typical flower car, but it says ranchero on the rear..wonder if that was added later to make it seem cooler and more "custom"-y instead of just the more common flower car/ hearse type cars.
