The Lincoln MKT concept
What do you think?
41 pictures if you just click "next".
I hope, I hope, I hope, they actually make one of these concepts one day and get off there b*tts
Great interior!
Notice the classic body line bump up like the 60's Lincolns right behind the back door?

I think none of the really interesting features will make it to a production car.

Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
Oh yay, another crossover "concept" that will never make it to production in current form
Meanwhile across the hall Cadillac introduced a production-ready coupe version of the hot new CTS.
Its like Lincoln isn't even trying anymore.

Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
None of Lincoln's concepts of the last 20 years have come even close to production with any of the cool features. This is another c*ck tease that will never see the light of day.

Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
I've never been a fan of trucks, vans, SUV's, CrossOvers and the like. I'm much happier driving a two door or convertible. With that said, I have to say I was a bit impressed with this car. As already stated in another post, all the cool stuff will not see it's way to production, but this is a not bad looking car.

Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
I hate to admit it, but, I like it. I do wish Lincoln would do something like this in a car though. If they make this, how many SUV's will that be? Four?

Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
FoMoCo produced a "retro" of the Mustang. Now all they have to do is produce a Lincoln Continental Mark. How tough could this possibly be?

I posted this web site in the Lounge hoping that someone here would design a retro Lincoln. I'd like to do it, but I have no artistic ability.Vitas wrote:FoMoCo produced a "retro" of the Mustang. Now all they have to do is produce a Lincoln Continental Mark. How tough could this possibly be?

I disagree Jim. Look at the work you did on that beautiful convertible!I'd like to do it, but I have no artistic ability.
Re: The Lincoln MKT concept
There are a lot of haters on this site. It seems if its new, regardless of what it is, chances are good several of you will hate it...
Anyway, the MKS concept and the production MKS look very much alike to me. The fender vent is gone (a plus to me) and of course the wheels are smaller. OEMs use concepts often nowadays to gauge consumer interest in future models. Ford changed the current production Mustang based on what people complained about the concepts.
Anyway, I got a look at the MKT today and it is more impressive in person. The proportions look nicer in person than in the pictures. BTW, the MKS is much better looking in person as well (it seems to have a presence - it could have been the display LOL). I like the MKT. It seems luxurious to me. But, that's just me. I snapped off a few pics of it. Sorry for the quality. It was my camera phone. I wasn't expecting to take pictures. When I saw it, I wanted to take some pictures for myself. I shrunk the pics to post. I can post them in original size if you want.
EDIT: I am able to take a picture with the subject entirely in the picture. LOL I guess I didn't shrink them down enough. This site cuts off the right side. If you want full size pics, I just post links.

Nice pics, thanks. I re-sized them for you. They can't be more than 600 pixels wide to display properly.

Thanks! At some point I will sign up and check it out. It might possibly be addicting. I think that a retro modernized Lincoln Continental Mark should concetrate on the 1969 - 1971 Mark III and the 1980 - 1983 Mark VI, with flairs from the other Marks. I think that the Mark VI was in essence a retro of the Mark III.
