Lincolns & Continentals on album covers

If it is Lincoln-related and doesn't seem to fall in the other categories or you just can't figure out where to put it, put it here!

If anyone remembers Allen Sherman "Hello Mudda, Hello Fadda" from the 60's one of his album covers had a Lincoln of it.

Another one not listed was by a rapper that went by Wood. About 2001 or so--maybe 2002--he released a ditty called "Out of the Woodwork." As I'm not into rap that much (Kid Rock and two or three more excepted, of course), I didn't buy the disc, but I did get the poster. It shows Wood sitting on the hood of a blue & white '66 convertible (same pic on the CD, I think).

Who remembers this movie from 1984? The Wild Life. This was before Lea Thompson and Eric Stoltz starred in Back To The Future..... before Eric got fired and they brought in MJF to begin reshooting! Although not an album cover... still fun nonetheless!

They chopped the top off a sedan for that cover photo. I hope they reinforced the underbody as was done on the convertible or those doors will be tough to open due to sagging.

Most movie companies will use several cars for a movie. If the cover car was cut or modified it may not have been running and was only used for the cover and sold for scrape afterwards. Many movie cars of that period were trashed. Some trashed to start with. The idea isn't to have a working vehicle. The goal is to take a picture. If that was a real car to start with. It could have been cardboard or some other similar material.

That is correct Jeff. I haven't seen the movie in a long time. It also makes an appearance in the movie. I need to go back and watch it sometime.

I snag misc things with 60s Lincolns on them. Here are a few album covers (I think). I spent no time labeling them all when I grabbed them along the way.

Going back to "The Wild Life" for a mite, I remember seeing part of that movie on Showtime back in the late '80s or very early '90s. In the beginning of the movie, I saw the car and immediately saw that it was a '68 model with the top chopped off. But it was being driven, so I can confirm that it was not used merely for the poster. But that is a good point--too many people even outside of Hollywood fail to consider what consequences will arise from their shade-tree / chop-shop mods, so I wonder how much trouble that car gave them when they were doing the movie. I'm willing to bet that they failed to consider that it was a unitized car; heck, even I didn't know these cars were unitized until 1991.

Yes, thats it! The Inspector Gadget car was hodgepodged together as well. I hate seeing it to be honest.
