Warning: Sellers to avoid

Temporarily locked due to spammers. Will investigate.

Ask here if you are looking for a facility to perform labor on your Lincoln. You should also post your recommended suppliers or servicers here for others to find. Want to name a vendor you had a bad experience with? Post your comments here, but please stick to the facts. Ask or post for Part Numbers and Cross References in the sub-forum specifically for that here.

Warning: Sellers to avoid

Post by Dan Szwarc »

This sticky will serve as the place to leave feedback regarding sellers anyone has had trouble with.

Please, no stories. Just post the their username, their ebay name, their real name, any aliases, and any other contact information you wish. No horror stories (you can link to them from another thread if you wish to tell your story).

Make it a habit to check this list or search the forum for a seller you are curious about.

Good sellers should be posted about in the Good Sellers thread.

Is posting the email address of the offender permitted? I figure if someone gets enough mail saying they did wrong they might think twice the next time.

Since email addresses can be easily changed, faked, etc... yeah. Go ahead.

re: RareParts, Stockton, California

Post by Gerald F. Chase »

I had a bad experience with Rare Parts of Stockton, California a
goodly number of years ago. Funny how we remember those
things, eh?

Mainly, it was a case whereby the company, at least at that
time, did not allow for any returns. I had bought an older car
and failed to check out the bad frame before I ordered the
suspension parts from said firm. Besides, the prices were
high.

You can do better elsewhere, in my opinion.

This one went all the way to the paypal buyer protection program. I got my money back but never got the Lincoln manual from ebay seller MESITKO.

Broken promises. I sent them a plate in early July. Was told 3 months. I inquired in mid-October (which perturbed his wife). I told them I needed it by the end of November because I was re-registering the car as an historic vehicle and needed the plate. I was assured it was "in paint" and would be done soon. She also told me that "the artist" was not to be rushed. She couldn't understand why I was making so many inquiries when she clearly told me it'd be three months.

She called last week and proudly announced it was done (roughly the 6.5 mark). By then I had found another plate, had another vendor restore it for half the cost, and got it back in 4 weeks.

I've heard Darryl's does great work, but I have zero tolerance with crappy service and bitchy attitudes. I lost $12.00 in shipping costs but came out much happier.

So, if anyone wants a restored 1966 Michigan plate, call "the artist" and make an offer

Avoid this Ebay seller, here is a picture of a gas pedal I bought. He only listed a front view, hiding the fact it was bent to hell. These pedals are heavy metal that are stamped with ridges in them, you would have to have a 200 pound guy jump on one to bend it like this. I received it and the original packing box was pristine with the original paypal mailing label. I sent him 3 emails over a period of over 2 weeks and the jerk has not done anything.

Here is a picture of the "good condition" gas pedal
