65 original tires

Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

65 original tires

Post by Suicide65 »

I can't seem to find info on what brand, size, radial or bias, white wall width that originally came on my 65 convertible. I finally unwrapped the spare tire and it looks like new, but for sure an old tire.

Thanks

I think the original tires were L78-15 bias ply with 1" whitewall.

Available from Coker Tire at: www.cokertire.com

I use these on my '66 convertible and '66 coupe and they look perfect, giving the car correct stance. Drive nice, too.

From my memory of the owner's manual in the '65 that I had, from '70 - '71, the original size was 9.15-15 bias-ply.

Is the spare a Good Year Power Cushion whitewall, 9.15-15 ? If it is then you can be relatively sure that it's the factory installed spare tire or one just like it.
