What is the difference on the 1960 models?

Details such as correct colors, plating material, inspection marks, orientation, and even the number of wipes that should occur for a vacuum-powered windshield wiper system after pushing the "wash" button.

This picture shows the difference between the continental and premiere.
They share the same engine and trans, and everything else for that matter.
It's just the body is a little different.
Most notabaly, the rear window.

The spacer that you refer to is commonly called the "B pillar".

Dosser, just to expound on details for your original question, the Mark designation was not used for Premieres. It was used only on the Continental models, and for your year it was Mark V (in '59 it was Mark IV, in '58 it was Mark III). There was some embarrassment in the FoMoCo hierarchy over that design, especially when the '60s models came out, which is why they went backwards in designations for future Marks, which is why the model that came out in '68 was dubbed Mark III, despite the fact that the designation was used ten years prior.

I still think they're nice to see every now and then. There was a base Lincoln model here in El Paso of that same year for a little while. It's been gone for months, and I never got a close-up look at it; but I did notice an auto-dim eye sticking out of the dash.

---Tony

P.S. I've noticed that there are a lot of Lincolns turning up in Denmark. Maybe I should consider moving there should things here implode.

I believe your car may be the base model Lincoln, just called the Lincoln. Premieres had a small, rectangular metal plaque on each front fender. Mounted low and just behind the front wheel opening. Does your car have manual roll up windows and front seat or do you have power windows and seat ?
