Shoot, I worked for 3 different FLM dealerships in the past. If there was a dollar in it and you were willing to pay, they would do anything you wanted. Not limited to just wide white walls.

Well said, Action. Original buyers of our 6o's Lincolns gave no thought at all to authenticity. They probably didn't even imagine that there would be people many years later who would argue over such things as bolt colors and tread patterns on tires. Wayne
A popular "upgrade" tire option here in the East was the General Dual 90 tire. I'd see a lot of these that were dealer installed on higher end cars like Lincolns, Cadillacs and the like. They were distinguished by a triple pinstripe whitewall and a separating groove down the middle of the tread that made the tire appear to have two separate tread surfaces.
There was quite a bit of tire sidewall design experimentation coming out of Detroit in the Sixties and Seventies. Redlines, Bluelines, Goldlines, Whitewall with an outer thin red stripe ( Thunderbird ), Double thin stripes in both white and red as well as combinations of stripe widths and numbers such as Cadillac did starting in the mid to late 60's. Lots of tire creativity back then ! Diamond Back seems to be the only classic car tire company that offers a variety of tires with these sidewall options.

Here in the East a lot of the prestige car dealers would "upgrade" their new high end cars with the General Dual 90 that sported three narrow white stripes. These were rather commonplace here in NJ at the time.
