Long ago, I discovered that "RAREPARTS.COM" had a "No Returns" policy. I wonder if they still do. Are they still in California? Anyway, I also remember that the prices were HIGH. "No, I would not buy from them again."

Dan,

Would you be able to add me to the list? Started to make my parts a business this year. 9 cars, and parts from at least 15-20 cars. NOS, good used, project cars, vert parts, all years and body styles 1961-1969. Thanks a lot. Pittsburgh, PA

Are new parts being made, or is there NOS for 1966 convertible top frames? I know you can get nice new vinyl from Jim Wallace and others but a friend of mine who also has a '66 will need to replace part or all of his convertible frame. Or do you just have to get good used parts from Baker's, Tim Nill, The Lincoln-Mercury Old Parts Store or LincolnLand?
Thanks.

I don't believe that anyone makes any parts for the top frames.

In the Detroit area? I'd sell you a top frame, cheap.

Thanks, Dan. I'll pass along your offer to my friend, who has a burgundy '66.

For steering wheel restoration, TUS lists only Best in Show. Just to comparison shop a bit, does anyone have experience with Quality Restorations in San Diego, Gary's in Carlisle, PA, or Steering Wheel Bob in Stockton, NJ? Thanks. I have a '66 in navy blue that has two cracks in it, one large.

There was some chatter in 2018 about Antique Auto Battery closing, going out of business, suspending operations, etc. Their website is still up and now has the phone number of an outfit called Jim's Battery Manufacturing. In a telephone call on 1/2/2019 a very nice woman named Dottie told me that the former owner had health problems and sold the business to Jim, a long-time employee. I ordered a battery and they gave me a lead time of 4-5 weeks. Another forum reported last year that they were working through a significant backlog but it sounds like they're processing current orders in a timely fashion now. Here's the address and phone:

Jim's Battery Mfg.
602 W. Rayen Avenue
Youngstown, OH 44502
330-480-0755

https://jimsbatterymfg.com/

is the website. It's under development and online ordering is not enabled as of January 2019.

Dan, after Tim Nill's passing I'm not sure of the fate of Lincoln-Ranch. John helped secure a sale of all the parts which are going to South Florida. I'm not certain if the new guy Brian is going to keep the website, number, etc. Just a heads up. Blair Farmer did Tim's rebuilds of carbs, window switches, steering pumps, etc. Would it be possible to post his info for his Lincoln Continental Services business? He has been in business since early 80s. He has really great prices and services!
