1957 Lincoln Continental Capri - Workshop Manual

Post by sly »

Hello,

does anybody know if and where I can get a complete Workshop manual for the obove car?

Meaning with all parts of the car, Service instructions, assembling and disassembling, wiring diagrams etc.

There are some CDs offered in Ebay, but it is not sure if these contain really everything.

Best Regards Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Welcome to the forums.

Faxon Auto Literature list one here:

http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/1957 ... 13588.aspx

1957 Lincoln Service Information" This is an original supplement that a Lincoln dealer mechanic would use to service your car. You will find step-by-step instructions on lubrication, body, frame, front suspension, rear axle, brakes, engine, clutch, fuel & exhaust, steering, chassis sheet metal, wheels, tires, A/C, and the electrical system. Also, lots of clear black and white pictures, illustrations, wiring diagrams and specifications clarify the instructions. This book covers 1957 Lincoln Capri, Premiere, and Continental Mark II. It measures 8.5" x 11" and has 94 pages. This book contains supplemental information on those features new to 57 Lincoln & Continental Mark II -- the supplement will refer you back to the 1956 Lincoln manual or the 1956 Continental Mark II manual for much of the information. For complete repair instructions, use this manual in conjunction with the 1956 Lincoln Maintenance Manual or the 1956 Continental Mark II Technical Data book. This is the only way that Lincoln made a shop manual for 57. Buy now to own the best manual for your car.

This link is the page for 1956 where they have a reprint or an original manual:

http://www.faxonautoliterature.com/Search.aspx?c=11821

I have bought several things from Faxon, they're good people to buy from.

Hope all of this assists you, all the best with your car.

Just so you're not confused the '57 Lincoln Capri did not use the Continental name as that was only used on the Mark II.
'56 Mark II convertible, '51 Royal Spartanette, '56 Chris Craft Continental
'68 Lincoln Continental Limo, '77 Town Car, '55 356 Porsche Continental cabrio,
'69 Mark III convertible,'88 BMW 750iL, '88 BMW 325iX, '97 BMW Z-3, '98 ML-320

My newest car is 15 years old!
