A few years ago, I found it interesting that while plain ol' Dexron was OK for 80s TC automatic transmissions, the owners manuals still call for Type F for the power steering system.
I wonder if this is why.. it's so common for these power steering pumps to leak.. as in, "wrong fluid" ? ?

These power steering pumps do not inspire confidence. Even when working correctly with fluid at correct level, they do an awful lot of bitching. I ran Mercon V in my ‘87 simply because I didn’t feel like having it and Type F both hanging around.

I understand, Nick. My '85 leaked a lot more than my current '88 TC.. which hardly leaks at all.
