old bolts

Post by sauceman »

Hey all,
21766347_1438400129569060_2895852365782012069_n.jpg
I just picked up this 47 chev and along with it was a few drawers full of old bolts. I have no idea what vintage, but some have no markings with thicker heads, some have letters like G, C, P. I'll post pics up today.

I was wondering if there is any interest in these?

cheers

Sauceman, Does your '47 Chevy have the "stove-bolt six" engine? LOL That was introduced in 1929, FWIW.

It did at one time many moons ago. I have a truck 261ci engine to go into it.

I buy all of my bolts from AMKproducts.com. I refurbish when I can. It's nice to have original fasteners. All of those logos and colors really stand out in a well-done restoration.

I know people who send them out for replating.

Hi Sauceman

Interesting find, done a lot of playing with Stovebolt Six engines, in my three Canadian Military Trucks. Got full the range of engines in current use 216 cubic inch 1945 vintage, 235 cubic inch 1958 vintage, 261 cubic inch 1962 vintage. Take a look at my truck web page http://canadianmilitarypattern.com/
