Basic Car Cover for '67

Post by MikeinNP »

Hi Everyone,

I'm restoring our 67 Lincoln and have been keeping it in the garage. But I need to pull it out to degrease the engine compartment and while it's sitting outside I'd like to put a cover on it for several days in case it rains, etc. I've been trolling the internet for a cover and it looks like there are lots of options from cheap (like $45) all the way to $600-$700 for a California Car Cover. I really don't want to invest any money in this since it will see limited use, but also don't want a cheap piece of garbage. Any suggestions on a manufacturer/size for somewhere in the $75-$150 range that will fit right and look decent?

I have a car that is kept outside all the time. My basic concern is the sun.
I never see snow. Rains less than 12 inches a year.
For that car I use something like this -
https://www.ebay.com/itm/TITANIUM-CAR-C ... 1822e0af25

Usually spend $50 to $75. It lasts about a year or so. After that the sun beats it up.

There is a company out of CA that sells covers in 3 to 9 layers on Ebay. If I looked harder I would find it. I only get covers from them that are 6 layers or more. They seem to last for that 1+ year time frame.

I keep cheaper covers on cars that are stored inside. The function there is to keep dust and floating debris off of the vehicle.

Thanks Action. My car will be kept inside most of the time as well with only occasional outside time that I need a reasonably rainproof cover. I'll check out the ebay listing you noted and report back on any other covers I find that look like a good fit.

That ebay listing is only an example. It may or may not work for you. Size matters.
