1964 dash pad oxidation, cleaning

Post by grandpa64 »

Before I just go for it with a product that may damage or dry the dash even more I was wondering if anyone had any advice. I generally keep the cover out of the sun, light etc with a towel when outside and the dash pad overall looks pretty good. No cracks or damage but some oxidation beginning to show. Little white dots in the texture. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas about cleaning or restoring a bit, adding color etc without removing entirely for a complete restore. I just want to make it loo a bit better and get ride of some of the white and make it last a bit longer. Thanks for any advice.

I used Meguiers Gold Class Leather and Vinyl Cleaner on the dash pad of my 65 Cutlass convertible and it worked very well in removing dirt and restoring the original color. I applied it with a foam pad and used a soft hand brush to scrub it, then wiped it down with a towel.
