Re: Mother’s CMX Ceramic Coating

Post by Paul K. »

These ceramic products are everywhere and the Mothers is one of the better ones. However it is a ceramic spray and NOT a coating. True ceramic coatings are hardened 2k products. These sprays have evolved due to their ease of use for the DIY but are not as durable as a true coating. The coatings are misleading regarding protection because they are hardened and do protect better than anything, however, they still can scratch ...and try to polish out scratches on a ceramic coating. Much harder to polish than the standard paint/clearcoat. All said, I clay, machine polish to remove the scratches and swirl marks (paint correction) and then protect with whatever wax/sealant I like including a ceramic spray. And do regularly to boost the gloss and color as mentioned. Plenty of protection and good looks.
