Page 73: “....adhesive backed label on the larger of the two (2) domes....”. This decal was located on the upper middle of the brake booster on both of my 67s. It wouldn’t even fit on either of the two reservoir cover domes.

Don’t think I have ever seen these on any car. No idea what they look like.

Re: Authenticity Errors
Is this the MC label? The 5-sided one?LithiumCobalt wrote:Page 73: “....adhesive backed label on the larger of the two (2) domes....”. This decal was located on the upper middle of the brake booster on both of my 67s. It wouldn’t even fit on either of the two reservoir cover domes.
The 66 label was round. 67 was oddly shaped. It fit my 67 master perfectly.
Sorry. I don’t have the MPC in front of me.

Re: Authenticity Errors
Here is where mine resides. Probably not correct. Now that I look at the domed top, I think you are correct that it would fit on top of the primary reservoir dome.

Re: Authenticity Errors
Is the 66-69 authenticity manual on the LCOC site worth the $65. Based on this thread seems like there is a lot of errors.
I am considering doing some very limited work under the hood of my '66 LCC at this time. With plans on a few years from now doing a full monty.
I don't mind paying for that manual. But if it is going to be revised or the data is inaccurate so much so that I would have to redo things that I have already handled that would not be fun.
My firsts pieces would be the fender braces (all 4 for the vert) the oil fill cap and oil dip stick end.
Looks like -
The fender braces - are two painted (satin black?) and the other two are not?
The oil fill cap is painted stain black?? Mine is silver with a Ford logo on the top. And no sticker if that is a thing
The oil dip stick top end is white? Gloss white or what finish type???

Re: Authenticity Errors
There’s far more correct in the manual than there is wrong, in my opinion. It’s a good reference and worth the money. Fender braces are black, but not sure on sheen. The originals on my car look semi-gloss. Satin/semi-gloss, ok, splitting hairs probably. Oil fill cap is supposed to be black. I believe the service replacement was silver. It was also bigger around than the original. Oil dipstick end should be yellow.

Re: Authenticity Errors
Thanks so much
I will place an order and do a few small things. No doubt job creep will occur.

Re: Authenticity Errors
Ha, job creep is inevitable. I refer to it as the snowball effect. I am planning to swap my fixed steering column for a tilt steering column this winter. Got to looking at how hard it will be to work with the rag joint and thought, well, I may as well rebuild the brake booster since it is original and in my way. And since I have to pull the master anyways, may as well replace that since it drips.....it never stops.action wrote:Thanks so much
