1963 LCC Dash Restoration

Post by mge825y »

My restored dash arrived this week from Just Dashes. The also dyed / color matched the top metal speaker grill and both metal dash-end covers.

Very happy with the end result and the color-match.

Let us know how it fits when you reinstall. The photo looks good. I have seen the Just Dashes youtube video and wondered how easy they are to reinstall because material gets added prior to the vacuum seal process. I have one small crack in my dash that I used some vinyl glue on to stop further deterioration. I may have to eventually go the JustDashes route.

Nice job!

They did my dash almost 20 years ago when I had the car done. Still looks great!

They did good work. They did mine too. How long did you have to wait? Mine was like 8 months

For mine, beginning-to-end, in big round numbers, the process took 9 months. Here are the dates to give you and idea of timing:
10/01/2020 - I filled out the on-line order form and they emailed me an invoice with a due date of 11/23/2020. That was the earliest they could add it to the "production queue".
11/13/2020 - Dash arrived at Just Dashes.
11/23/2020 - Invoice was paid and dash was added to the Just Dashes production queue.
06/01/2021 - Arrived back at the shop.

So, roughly 2 months lead time to get it into the production queue and 7 months to complete the work and ship it back.

A tip - I forgot to tell the shop to send the speaker grill and dash's metal end caps with the dash so they could clean and color match them to the dash. So those were sent separately. But they did a good job with them. Just a tip to include them with the dash when you send it.

Hope this helps.

What’s the going rate for a ‘63 dash, Mark? Last I checked on my ‘67, they wanted $1,400 plus tax plus shipping.

I think it's closer to $1,500 + color matching if you want something other than standard black + tax & shipping

Well, close to perfect, anyways. They apparently cannot do the right size holes and correct spacing of the holes for the speaker opening, but that is a minor detail in the overall grand scheme.
