While you're in there, consider removing that roof insulation, and using a newer product in it's place. Mice are attracted to that stuff. They chew it up to use elsewhere as a nesting material, so look for nests, if you haven't already.
I have a low mileage '75 Mercury with one rust hole in the lower body, because that's where they nested, and their nests promote rust.

Lots of technology and material changes in the last 5 or 6 decades. That particular change will yield a more comfortable ride in the way of temperature and sound.
