Hello everyone,

My name is Jur de Jong, and currently Chairman of the Lincoln Club Nederland (LCN). Here a pic with my previously owned Mark IV.

Image

I am in the process of founding a Region of the LCOC in the Netherlands. I can use all possible help and support. I already want to thank Dan for his efforts and support so far.

To start up a Region, I need at least 11 Dutch or Belgian LCOC-members including myself.

Wishing to join LCOC as a Region soon,

Jur de Jong.

Jur, you should continue the LCN and form as one of the first "open regions" of the LCOC.

An open region can be another club as long as enough of those club members join the LCOC. Not all of the LCN members need to join the LCOC for it to be declared a region, but those LCN members who do not join the LCOC will not be considered LCOC region members.

Complicated, isn't it?

Jur,

I think it's great that you want to form the region. I know it's hard work, and good luck. If there's any way I can help, let me know. Don't know what I can do from this side of the world, but let me know if I can.

For the record, Jur, I recommend sending an email to Bruce Hutchinson, the LCOC's Vice-President of Regions. He should be willing to help you out as much as possible. I will PM his email to you. Tell him you got his name from me if he asks.

Jur,

Jack Shea's concept of LCOC "open regions" is very potentially a great "out of the box" idea that may work very well. I respect Jack greatly, as Treasurer of LCOC, and as a friend.

We at New England Lincolns have a new friend from Lithuania that is looking for parts, preferably used, for his 1978 Lincoln Mark. Can any of you guys help him out?

Vitas

1 Auto headlight switch
2 Auto sensor/dim
3 "Miles to empty" computer
4 Windshield wipers motor
and I am looking for new whitewall tires - these are not easy to get here - on Lincoln forum found that WallMart has Goodyear 235/75/R15 whitewalls for 55$ (or may be some of your friends do have used ones cheaply?)
But all depends on money - may be not all things at the same time - currently have new born baby (boy), so let me know what you can find and how much it could cost.

Hello Vitas,

At this moment I am preparing the setup of a Region. I understand that the "Open Region" concept is used for existing clubs jioning LCOC. I suggested it in our LCN Boardmeeting last sunday, but we decided to start up the Region separate from the LCN initially. In a later stage LCN could join.

For your Lethuanian friend I suggest he puts his question on our forum after having registered. More and more foreigners are doing that.
Here he can register:

His question for parts can be put here

Jur,

Bruce called me last night and said he can send you the information you requested. However, you are already an LCOC member and you should already have a 2008 directory. If you open it up, look for the member listing by US state and find the Netherlands (its at the end somewhere near Norway, England, etc.). There should be about 6 members already joined. There should also be one for Belgium.

Dan,
The LCOC documents were in the mail today. Indeed the NL and Be members are in the directory. I wil contact them all. The rest I will recruit from LCN-members.

Jur,

What is the status of finding enough members for form a region? Did you find 11 names and signatures? I'd really like to see the region be approved at this winter's board meeting. You need to submit the information by December 1st or possibly earlier.

Hello Dan,

I am almost there. I will have the petitions well before 1 dec. Do you have an address to send them to?

:-)

Jur.
You should send them to Bruce with your formal request to forma region. Make sure all charter members are already members of the LCOC. They won't approve it unless everyone has already joined and paid their dues!

The petitions have been mailed to the LCOC members concerned. I urgently request the recipients to fill in the statements, print them out, sign them and send them to my home address as stated in the mail. The statement can also be downloaded here (attachment). Thanks in advance.
