Bit of welding. You have to weld tabs to the axle, and weld plates into the lower control arms. No actual welding to the car. That's it for welding.

technically if you wanted to go back to stock you would cut the tabs off the axle and replace the control arms.

Sweeeeeet!! Lookin good! When we installed my kit we put bigger tabs on the upper links you weld to the rear end. The ones with the kit seemed really small.

I also had my passenger side front bag blow out a coupe weeks back because it was rubbing the rear of the spring pocket. I cut out the back of the spring pocket on both sides for clearance. Its a tight fit. My buddy that helped me couldn't believe it. He's done hundreds of air bag installs.

i was kinda thinking the upper tabs were pretty dinky, but then again they really only serve to align the axle / prevent wrapping.

yes, i did hear about spring pocket clearance issues - i will deffinately be aware of that when i install the fronts :) thanks!!!

Trunk install 90% done. Just missing a couple push-to-connect fittings, air filter & fuse box from eBay then I can finally fire up the system. Still gotta finish the 4 link and the front end but I'm fighting a cold though so might be a couple more weeks.

progress. My buddy came over and welded on the 4-link tabs:

And i got it all painted, and installed. Here is the first test run: https://youtu.be/i5OJJMu6cGw

Note the axle is up on jack stands so its sitting really high.

They look like nice welds. No amateur. The video is good. You're going to have a lot of fun with this car.

thanks man. little update from last night. I got my ride-height set, my pinion angle set, and locked down all of the 4-link bars. Then I dropped it down and started trimming the driveshaft tunnel:

it can still go lower, but I broke every jigsaw blade I own but here is how she sits now:

Mufflers are back on. Also installed the shocks, bump stops, and hooked up the ride height sensors.

I also trimmed the tunnel back a bit more

I also tracked down my air leak, will see tomorrow if it's still holding pressure. I also remade a brake line but the wife wasn't around tonight so hopefully I'll bleed it tomorrow. Then I can finally turn the car around and start on the front. I still have a ton of stuff to do on the rear but it can wait until after the front is done.

Progress report. Got the front stripped, strut rod bushings replaced with energy polyurethane, and lower control arms stripped, cleaned, ready to weld in the lower bag plates.

Got the lower plates welded in yesterday. And have it pretty much installed today. Still need to finish routing the hoses and mount the front e-level sensors. Then just clean up the trunk and build a new trans tunnel.
