Project "JFK Ride"
Since I finally finished my truck project Bada Bing (http://severedties.com/member/16/ride/1994-chevy-s-10) I've decided to build the Lincoln. I got the car moved the other day (runs great) at my Dad's place where I can work on it. I'll be taking pics along the way to document the entire build. I'll be baggin' the car along.. which will be done by Jimmy at Jimmy's Rod n Customs. Today I got the door panels off and checked all the window motors. The rear 2 are shot so I'll be swapping them out. I'm also rewiring all the windows with switches from RonFrancis.com. Below is a sneak peek of the rendering, which is done by Renderings by Thor (http://renderedbythor.wordpress.com/)
I noticed today the vent window on the drive side was installed incorrectly and it will only open a small amount. Just need to pull it off and reinstall it.

Resto Mod Project Build Thread - SEMA Project ????
Started on the Lincoln today. Prep'd it to get the engine pulled within the next week or so. Plan is to degrease it, change the timing gear, change some gaskets and paint it. Making progress.

Will do man. Ya when I got the car it had a makeshift tin battery tray. LOL. We are going to cut all that cancer out and clean it up nice. I'll keep posting pics of the progress. Many of the threads on here have helped / motivated me to get to working on her.

Well I'm headed to work on Lincoln. I posted up my rendering on my blog. Please be sure to check it out and follow my blog as I continue to post more behind the scenes progress for the build (of course I will keep this thread updated as well). http://bd94s10.wordpress.com/ & thanks to http://renderedbythor.wordpress.com/ for the awesome rendering, which was a Xmas gift from my wife!

Re: Project "JFK Ride"
Put some work in on the 23rd. Got the trans just about unbolted from the block. I believe I have 2 more bolts left. Got much of the electrical pulled back and out of the way. More to come!
Any advice at this stage to get the motor pulled? Here is my list of what to do on the motor without it needing to be rebuilt:
-oil pump drive shaft with this billet drive shaft from Precision Oil Pumps in CA
-timing gear
-oil pan gasket
-rebuild the water pump
-note: got the fuel pump rebuilt already by Then and Now I think it was.
I know some say with the motor out to get work done on the heads. Thoughts? Should I just get it done? Also, I'm going to run the Edelbrock carb (http://store.edelbrock.com/9906.aspx) - did I read correctly that the linkage has to be fab'd up to work correctly on the Lincoln? Thanks for everyone's help. I've gotten a ton of info from this page http://www.thelincolnforum.net/phpbb3/v ... &start=165 and the Usual Suspects thread on where to go etc.

Yes....
Let all the air out of the front tires, get a good engine hoist and a few friends...try and get the chain as close to the block as possible so you have the most amount of room to let the hoist down and do its work. When I pulled mine, the hydraulic reservoir for the lift was touching the front of the body work.
Good Luck and make sure you reward good friendship with adequate beverages!!

By the way...LOVE the truck. Your rendering is going to look awesome in real life. I should probably have one done so I stick to one tire and wheel combo!

Re: Project "JFK Ride" ~ Bulid Progress
Didn't get the motor pulled yet. Cleaned up the trunk this past Saturday. The old school dynamat tar paper was pretty nasty but it kept stuff pretty solid all those years. Got most of the old gummy seam sealer out as well.

I'm in the exact same spot with my sedan trunk. I'm debating between roll on insulation and fat matt type stuff.

Re: Project "JFK Ride"
I've used the roll on type before. I think I'm going to have it media blasted and then just Rhino line it. That bed liner is a super nice seal.

Re: Project "JFK Ride"
So I've put some work in on the car the past few weeks. The next major step was getting the motor ready to be pulled. I got the motor out on Saturday after only a few hours of prep. I'll include some pics below including the new billet quarter panel emblems I had made by Billet & Acrylic Fantasies in South Florida -->http://www.billetandacrylic.com/ -- I also took out the shocks and sway bar. Just getting stuff out of the way for the bag job + most of the undercarriage will be powder coated black..
http://www.hubgarage.com/mygarage/vehicles/39715
In the pics are my Dad "Poppa Smurf" and Vic aka Nene. Nene and I got the motor pulled pretty quickly. He was trimming up the exhaust a bit more from where I had cut it prior. Time to get down to cleaning everything up in the motor compartment! Can't wait. With the motor out of the way it is GAME ON!
More to come! Oh and make sure to follow Slammed64 on Facebook. He is keeping me even more motivated on mine! https://www.facebook.com/Slammed64s?ref=ts&fref=ts

Re: Project "JFK Ride"
Ok.. been super busy at work and working on the Lincoln. I'll post up some progress. I have a lot of pics just need to sit down and get them all uploaded, which I will do at some point. Got the dash and steering column out!
Anyone interested in the AC parts on this including the AC stuff behind the dash? I'm running Vintage Air on it so I won't need it. It is amazing how the stuff behind the dash seems so preserved nothing being in the sun etc.
The dash took me about 4-5 hours to pull. I took my time and wasn't in a rush... spent about 3 hours one day and a few weekends later I spent about 2 hours pulling the column, unbolting the wiring clips behind the dash and finally getting it to the point I could pull it from the car. My main reason for pulling it is 1) rewiring the car 2) running new school Vintage AC and 3) car is getting media blasted so need the firewall free of all the AC etc.
More to come!

Also, I'm now writing for Common Treads Magazine. We will be doing various Tech Articles on the 67 Lincoln so make sure to check em out! Kent, who puts out the magazine, is a great guy and does the magazine in his own spare time! I hope to continue to integrate in slab sides since we don't get much love from other mags!
http://commontreadsmag.com/ or on Facebook look up Common Treads Magazine!
I'll also be updating my blog during the build process on JFK Ride: http://bd94s10.wordpress.com/
