1965 Lincoln Continental Sedan -Custom-Australia
Hi Guys,
I took this car off the road in November 2008 because of a timing chain that was missing the nylon.
As they say, it just started from there....
I will post more build pics up later, it is a great feeling to finally see some colour after 2 years at the body shop!
Cheers Angelo

I like that shade of blue. I always wanted a 1971-72 Mercury cougar that color with a black interior. Are you going with a two tone color or just a white roof over a blue body?

Hi Guys
I am going with a white roof with blue car.
The white is straight white tinter and then white ice pearl from House of Kolor in an intercoat before the top clear.
The blue is from DNA Paints and is called Saffire blue, it is a candy blue laid over a silver base.
The engine bay has been done is KBS Blacktop, which is the same guy who invented the POR 15 product and then sold the buisness to the USA, he is based here in Australia.
I have also done in cavities in the door returns with this KBS product.
The hinges have all been done in silver zinc plating.
I am very lucky that I had the vinyl roof originally as the trim for these go right around to the rear window trim, perfectly covering the join between the white and the blue. They are getting re-chrome plated at the moment.
I have added some more body pics to page 9 of the cardomian link below.
Cheers Angelo

Angelo, good to see things are moving closer to completion. Two years is a lot of time to have to wait!
Very curious to see the painted body.

Looking good Angelo
I must come up for a visit again 1 day.
I see you have a few pics of my 64 from "All Ford Day" in Geelong a few years ago.
And the cool 61 lincoln with the 460.

Candy went down last night, not quite right
So it will be rubbed back in three to four weeks and started all over again.
I will get the under side, trunk and interior painted in satin black while I am waiting for the next paint job.
I will also add the Wurth spray on body deadner under the car and in the wheel arches while the car is on the hoist and all the suspension removed.
Cheers Angelo

Sorry to hear that. What went wrong?
Re: 1965 Lincoln Continental Sedan -Custom-Australia
Preperation was perfect, the candy did not go down well, it was "cloudy" not uniform....

Ive never liked candies from any other paitn company other then House Of Kolor, their UK series candies are easy to spray and Ive never had them ever blotch or become non uniform (poor spray technique can also cause that). Never the less thats going to be one sharp car with those color combos! Im glad someone is doing something other then black/white/red!! goodluck!

After 4 days on the wirewheels and sanders, 7 liters of Wurth body deadner, 3 liters of matt black 2 pack, the undercarriage is done from the firewall back......
I painted the diff and springs as one complete assembly using the KBS product (similar to POR15)
I had my fuel tank cleaned out and lined with POR15 Tank kit quite a while back, the sender has been rebuilt.
I even sanded back and repainted my exhaust while I was at it.
New shackle bushes arrived today, I get some pics with the diff up, just need new brake lines and fuel/return lines made and then I can tackle the front end rebuild and sound deadend/paint that area.
I will start on stripping back the trunk tommorow getting ready for paint next week.
Cheers Angelo
