Its an Infinity 6 inch mid range with tweeter, for bass I have a pioneer sub with built in amp that will go where the factory speaker was in the package tray. Did the all in one unit due to limited space in the verts and I intend to drive it so need to keep the spare tire. Rucksta has a nice set up if you have not checked out his thread, that is where I got the idea.

Had a 50 degree day yesterday with no other jobs so I got under the Lincoln and ran the airlines to the rear bags. Installed a tee and a schrader valve so I could put air to them with my compressor. Everything moves smooth and only 50 psi to get it to ride height. Next install the rear shocks, nope. Have to figure out a new upper mount set up the one I made is to short and the shock bottoms out before the car is fully lowered. Also have some clearance issue on the drivers side due to the fuel filler to figure out. Post some pics when I fab up new mounts, back to 15 degrees today so the garage is out.

Gotta love the weather down south. One day it's freezing and the next it's sunny and 60. Makes for a few really good days to work on the car, this Sat it's supposed to be 60 so hope to get some more work done.

Started the fab on the new shock mounts, mounts in black are from the kit and do not work for convertibles due to additional bracing for the top mounting bracket in the trunk.

Brackets made up and checked for fitment, channel grind them and weld permanent. Major set back looks like the 8.8 rear end will not work the centered pinion raises the drive shaft too much. Thinking about going with an 8 inch rear end not sure what to do 8 or 9 inch more research needed.

Looks good, nice fab work. Trying to visualize how the ones from the kit work. I may need to move the ones on my '66 and that might be a good idea. Do they just screw to the "frame?'

The mounts from the kit go in the same place as the ones I fabbed up with longer end going up. However, the convertible has the brace there so they won't fit. If you need some mounts I have no use for those.

Temps back in the single digits here so not much being done in the garage. Did get my package tray back from being soda blasted and got it painted to match the new interior.

So after much research and looking through craigslist etc I am on track for the rear end. Seems the Ford f150 9inch is the same width as my narrowed 8.8 and for 3 model years (80-82)they made a F100 with the 5 x 4 1/2 bolt pattern. So I have a set of used axles in the mail to me now and found a guy with a 3.50 gear 9 inch a 100 miles away who is also interested in the narrowed 8.8. So the project can move forward and I don't have to buy custom axles or change my wheels to fit the larger bolt pattern and I won't take a total loss on the 8.8. Call this one a win and maybe some useful info for other forum members.

Cut the floor and got the two piece drive shaft mocked up. Now a trip to the shop to have a shaft made.
