My present project
I figured I would try and post my present time consumer since I am new to the forums
I picked this 68 Continental from an estate very reasonably and decided to try my hand at a custom/resto job to keep me busy
For the age and being a NY car it isnt in bad shape other then a bit of rust in the usual places and the rear quarters being shot
I have made all the repair panel by hand and am now beating my head on the rear quarters which have me stumped
I will post pictures as soon as I figure out how

under the text box you will see a upload attachments tab, click that, browse for your picture from your folders, upload, add comments in the box, then hit place in line, it puts it where ever your cursor is in the text box.
good luck.
good luck.

Re: My present project
OK I figured out how to add them now gotta make them smaller I think
Re: My present project
This is the area that is irritating me
Re: My present project
After posting the pictures I forgot to that Detroit for the help so I didnt look like such a moron not being able to post a pic
Presently I have allot of the things needed to complete this car minus the air bag system which is coming soon
The rear quarters are causing me the most grief seeing I had never tried to hand make parts that large...After seeing the work Detroit did on his rear quarters I will try it that way instead of the way I thought it needed to be done

Re: My present project
I figured I would post a picture of the last project I did even though it isnt a Lincoln
It took me 3-4 months to remove all the damage on the car and replace the fiberglass and bondo the previous owner made the rear quarters out of
I loved doing the work just as much as working on this lincoln its just easier when there are aftermarket parts to weld in

Welcome to the forum !!!
Nice project you have there, did you check out this thread on Barry's Limo restoration (great details!), you may pick up a few tips on your car since it is the same year:

Nice work on the 67 Mustang Fastback! I have a 68 Fastback and have the engine out doing projects (do they ever end?)

Re: My present project
Well after destroying to sheets of steel then watching some videos on how to form body panels I have purchased a palm nailer and hardened carriage bolts to use and a poor mans planishing hammer
This is so much easier and will see how well it works at reproducing this panel

Re: My present project
ok I finally finished the rear quarter patch panel which sucked having never done a panel that large
The dash is out and going to the upholsterer
Next is looking at the air suspension
I have decided to to go with a rebuilt york air conditioning compressor converted to air
I have looked into it and pricewise its cheaper and more cfm
I guess I will find out

Re: My present project
I used a DA for alot of the big area and a die grinder and 2 inch ryloc wheels for the rest
Re: My present project
been a while since I posted on the project I have had allot going on
I got hold of a rebuilt york compressor since the factory one was in the trunk and seized
Problem is that the original mounting brackets werent on the engine or the compressor so I have no idea what to look for or how it mounts
Does anyone have a clear pic of a york compressor mounted on a 68 460?
